More green roof outdoor stores for Cheltenham Borough Homes!

As part of the £4.3million Monkscroft Villas Regeneration Scheme, Cheltenham Borough Homes were looking to provide residents with safe and secure external storage for bins, bikes and mobility scooters for 27 new affordable homes. The scheme forms part of a wider £100million Housing Investment Plan by Cheltenham Borough Council and Cheltenham Borough Homes.

The development aims to make a difference to the town and the people who live in it by building great communities as well as new homes. It was therefore important that the stores helped to improve current transport systems and add sustainability to the neighbourhood.

Specified by architects Kendall Kingscott Ltd for Main Contractor EG Carter & Co Ltd, Streetspace Group products include a metroSTOR PBH 36.62 Bin Room Building, metroSTOR PCH 36.80 Cycle Hub with two tier cycle racks and metroSTOR PSM4 Mobility Scooter Store, all specified with sedum green roof, ForestPanel timber cladding for a natural finish, and Locinox 40 door locks with eurocylinder deadlocks to ensure that contents are securely stored.

Green roof structures help increase biodiversity and carbon sequestration while reducing temperatures in the stores and providing a superb visual aesthetic from above which is a valuable features when the stores are to be located at a distance but in view of properties. External storage solutions from metroSTOR are designed to reduce fire risk, while removing obstacles to accessibility.
