Transport Manager

 

Hythe

 

We are currently seeking a Transport Manager to join the Streetspace Operations Team, responsible for logistics planning, optimal utilisation of transport resources and overall responsibility for the company’s fleet of HGVs, commercials, cars and access plant.

Day to day, our trucks and vans deliver manufactured product and site equipment to our installation projects nationwide, collecting from suppliers and moving product between manufacturing sites. This is a new role that combines scheduling with fleet management and we are looking for a proactive person with a genuine sense of responsibility to take ownership of this key function within our business.

 

About The Role

  • Work closely with our internal teams to optimise transport schedules and achieve delivery dates.
  • Liaise with drivers to ensure all loading / offloading details are covered including out of hours phone availability where required
  • Maximise efficiency of pallet freight with site delivery schedule and arrange external haulage where dates do not fit available timeframe
  • Coordinate and assist with accurate and safe loading of trailers / delivery vehicles in line with delivery schedule.
  • Fleet Management including servicing, inspection and repairs etc for HGVs, vans and company cars
  • Operator’s licence responsibilities for HGV tractor units and trailers
  • Servicing, inspection and repairs for company powered access equipment
  • Weekly defect / non-compliance reports for all vehicles
  • Monitor daily operation of company vehicle performance, including fuel, emissions and any non-compliance, reporting to the relevant internal departments.
  • Development of Quality Manual for vehicle and plant maintenance

Senior Design Engineer

 

Hythe

 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join the innovative R&D team at Streetspace. Working alongside the Technical Manager and the wider design team, you will be responsible for end-to-end product development of world class street scene solutions.

Using advanced manufacturing and design processes, you will be creating 3D CAD models for both prototype and production runs including CNC programmes, assembly drawings and materials schedules. You will be fully conversant with all relevant engineering drawing practice, able to work to tight deadlines, and within budget limitations.

 

What the Role Involves

  • Robust 3D CAD modelling in SolidWorks for the development of complete product systems including mechanisms and sub-assemblies
  • Rapid prototyping and the presentation of creative design solutions for group assessment
  • Generating detailed production drawings, programmes and BoMs for prototypes, with shop floor level input and evaluation
  • Providing technical support to sales, purchasing and production functions including the sourcing of key components
  • Collaborate with external manufacturing partners and accreditation bodies

CNC Laser / Press Supervisor

 

Dover

 

We have a new opportunity for an experienced CNC Fibre Laser / Press Brake Supervisor to join the Streetspace team, responsible for the all sheet and plate metal production in an engineered-to-order environment.

Operating a double shift from 6:00am to 10:00pm Monday to Friday, we are looking for a Supervisor to cover the core hours of 7:00am to 5:00pm. Our sheet metal facility produces cladding panels, trims, rainwater goods and assembly components for metroSTOR street furniture products alongside structural profiles for Streetspace steel frame canopy structures. All design, fabrication and assembly processes are carried out in house between our two production sites in Dover and Hythe with 3D digital design formats used throughout for ease of development, transfer and checking.

Main duties involve delivery of the the sheet metal processing workload from our primary production schedule and EPDM system, managing CNC programmes, allocating material and coordinating workflows between laser and press brake. QA duties to ensure complete, defect free production runs across both shifts and the management of stock location systems for distribution of components to shop floor.

 

About the Job

  • Day to day supervision of sheet metal operatives coordinating workflow between day shift and late shifts.
  • Supervision of scheduling for cutting programmes for flat laser (Lantek), coordination of 3D bending programmes (Cyebelec) with design team
  • Liaison with purchasing team to ensure timely flow of materials to shop floor.
  • Liaison with design team to resolve design queries proactively and check new parts
  • Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective actions with the team.
  • Issue and recording of PPE and consumables to shop floor
  • Assist the operators to set up the machines and monitor accuracy.
  • QA quality and dimension check of all components including sign off for packing before releasing to other departments
  • Management of component location plan and labelling for all sheet metal production
  • Ensure machinery, process areas and sheet stock are maintained in immaculate order with appropriate daily and weekly maintenance schedules
  • Updating accurate production records on Company IT systems

 

About You

  • 5 years’ experience as team leader or supervisor in sheet metalwork/fabrication and brake press operation, ideally with offline programming software
  • Familiar with fast paced SME manufacturing with the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Good administrative and IT skills with experience in workload/material planning
  • A sound understanding of workplace Health and Safety
  • Willingness to learn and maintain essential product knowledge
  • Excellent eye for detail with a strong knowledge of quality processes and continuous improvement targets.

Steel Fabrication Operative

Streetspace are currently looking for an additional Steel Fabrication Operative to join the manufacturing team at our Poulton Close site in Dover.

 

About the Job

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be working primarily on our saw and drill lines cutting, marking, drilling and tapping mild steel section. The role will require flexibility in performing different duties around the fabrication and sheet metal department as required. Overhead crane certificate an advantage though full training will be provided.

 

About You
